LXE to Discontinue Eargo and Lexie Apps: What Users Should Know
LXE OTC hearing aid products include the Lexie B2 Plus and B3 Powered by Bose, and Lexie H1 Hearing Buds, as well as Eargo 8, Eargo Link, and Eargo SE. Lexie owners should update and synchronize their apps before October 8, while Eargo owners have until October 22, according to parent company LXE . After their respective deadlines, the apps will no longer be available for download or reinstallation. LXE Hearing has announced that it will remove the Lexie and Eargo mobile apps from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store as it continues winding down its U.S. operations . The Lexie app will be removed and its cloud connectivity deactivated on October 8 , and the Eargo app will undergo the same changes on October 22 . However, LXE says Version 9 of each app is expected to retain its local functions on the phone where it is installed— provided it has been updated and synchronized before the applicable deadline . Older versions may stop working entirely when cloud connectivity is turned off. Eargo and Lexie hearing aids themselves are expected to continue providing amplification and other core functions through their onboard controls and most recently saved settings. But owners could lose access to the app if they delete it, replace or reset their phones, or otherwise need to reinstall it after the removal date. What Eargo and Lexie owners should do now LXE is advising customers to take the following steps: Update the applicable app to Version 9 through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Lexie users should complete the process before October 8; Eargo users should do so before October 22. Open the app and confirm that it is working and displays Version 9. Eargo users can find the version under Menu; Lexie users should look under Profile. Check that preferred volume settings, defaults, and listening profiles are configured properly.
