Jambi's International Deaf Day and Sign Language Week showcases Deaf-run small businesses with PLN support

·

Rumah BUMN Jambi, backed by state power company PLN's South Sumatra, Jambi and Bengkulu distribution unit, supported the 2026 International Week of the Deaf and Sign Language in Jambi, Indonesia, giving Deaf people and the public a space to meet, learn sign language and interact. The support included exhibition facilities that let four small businesses run by Deaf entrepreneurs present their products, plus door prizes. Organizing committee chair Putri Fatima Azzahra said the event was not only about introducing sign language but about showing that Deaf people have work, skills and business potential worth knowing, and that direct interaction helps the public communicate more openly with the Deaf community.
