·

HBO Max releases the short documentary A Voz do Corpo (The Voice of the Body) on November 5 as part of the third season of its Narrativas Negras Nao Contadas series. Directed by actor and Libras (Brazilian Sign Language) interpreter Luccas Araujo, it follows Deaf poets Edinho Poesia, Dienani Santiago and Leo Castilho in Slam do Corpo, a poetry slam founded in 2014 at MASP in Sao Paulo as the first in the world to bring together Deaf and hearing poets. The film shows signed poetry as an expression of Deaf identity, belonging and resistance, and also features co-founder and interpreter-poet Erika Mota. It airs on TNT on November 13.
