Ballet Jovem Minas Gerais weaves Brazilian Sign Language into contemporary dance in 'Sentido', with free shows at the Minas Gerais Deaf Association
'Sentido', a new work by Ballet Jovem Minas Gerais directed by Maxmiler Junio, builds Libras (Brazilian Sign Language) into the choreography, from handshape and movement to facial expression and use of space. Free performances followed by audience talks are set for Nov. 6 at the Associação de Surdos de Minas Gerais and Nov. 12 at the Centro Mineiro de Reabilitação Auditiva in Belo Horizonte.
