Argentina's Río Negro advances law requiring Argentine Sign Language training for all police officers
Río Negro's provincial legislature gave first-round approval to a bill making Argentine Sign Language (LSA) mandatory in police academies and in training for serving officers, so police can communicate with Deaf and hard of hearing people, assist them in emergencies and treat them without discrimination. The bill builds on LSA workshops the cadet school began in 2021.
