Vietnam’s ASL Law opens Da Nang office on 13th anniversary

ASL Law has celebrated its 13th anniversary with the opening of a new office in Da Nang, marking the Vietnamese firm’s third domestic location and extending its reach into Central Vietnam. The Da Nang office complements ASL Law’s existing branches in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, with managing partner Pham Duy Khuong saying it gives the firm coverage across Vietnam’s northern, central and southern regions. “Da Nang is emerging as one of the most dynamic economic and investment centres in Central Vietnam, with growing opportunities in foreign investment, technology, logistics, infrastructure, international finance and cross-border business,” he told Asia Business Law Journal. “The city is entering a particularly important stage of development, with initiatives such as the Da Nang Free Trade Zone and the International Financial Centre, alongside a strong focus on semiconductors, artificial intelligence, innovation and the digital economy. We believe these developments will create a new generation of increasingly sophisticated legal and regulatory needs.” Pham said the expansion was part of the firm’s long-term strategy. “It is part of our long-term strategy to be closer to clients in Central Vietnam, support domestic and foreign investors entering the region, and connect businesses in Central Vietnam more effectively with the firm’s broader capabilities across Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore and our international network,” he said. Senior partner Nguyen Thi Thuy Chung will head the Da Nang office, but ASL Law did not disclose the number of lawyers working alongside her when operations officially commenced on 22 September 2026. The firm, however, revealed that the team was expected to grow to 15 members in 2027. The office will focus on corporate and foreign investment, M&A, IP, technology and data-related matters, employment, dispute resolution, commercial transactions and cross-border work. The Da Nang launch comes six months after ASL Law became the first Vietnamese law firm to open an office in the US, with a location in Bloomington, Minnesota. Pham said further international expansion was being considered, although he did not identify potential jurisdictions. “Yes, ASL LAW will continue to explore opportunities for selective international expansion where such expansion supports the genuine cross-border needs of our clients,” he said.
