Incheon council member Lee Su-hyun: local sign language interpretation centers are a survival right for Deaf people
Incheon City Council member Lee Su-hyun, who sponsored the city's ordinance on setting up and running sign language interpretation centers, says Deaf residents outside Namdong-gu could not get help with basic paperwork or medical visits because Incheon had only one regional center branch. The ordinance passed unanimously, and new district centers are being discussed in Michuhol-gu, Jemulpo-gu, Yeonsu-gu and Namdong-gu, with Deaf associations proposed to run them.
