The alert was issued at 12.30 p.m. after the landslip at the Kalladi tunnel project site in Wayanad at around 11 a.m. The IMD also issued a red alert for neighbouring Kozhikode district and orange alerts for Malappuram, Kannur and Kasaragod districts
