Kahramanmaras gives Deaf parents vibrating, light-flashing baby monitors

Kahramanmaras Metropolitan Municipality in Turkey has delivered vibrating, light-flashing baby alert devices to 16 families with Deaf parents. The latest went to Deaf couple Onur and Rabia Ucan, parents of a five-month-old: the system detects the baby's crying and sends a strong vibration and light alert to a unit the parents carry. The municipality's disability and elderly services department said it assesses applications one by one and will keep providing equipment to families who need it.
