Izmir's Deaf associations celebrate Turkey's Republic Day with a group bike ride

Deaf and hard of hearing residents of Izmir marked the 29 October Republic Day with a bike ride from Konak to Inciralti organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality's Turkish Sign Language Unit. The Izmir Association for the Protection and Development of the Deaf, Karsiyaka Deaf Association and Bornova Silent Association took part, with the city providing safety support and refreshments, as part of efforts to strengthen Deaf people's place in social and sports life.
