Deaf actor Daniel Bongioanni brings 'Un po' lontano' to Montecarotto in Italian and Italian Sign Language

'Un po' lontano,' a new show by Fuori Contesto written by Deaf actor and dancer Daniel Bongioanni and director Emilia Martinelli, plays the Teatro Comunale in Montecarotto, Italy, on October 30. Performed in Italian and Italian Sign Language (LIS) with live surtitles, it follows a hearing mother and her Deaf son through the moment of separation, and was born from the meeting of the Deaf and hearing worlds. The show closes the fourth edition of Officine Teatrabili, winner of the Culture Ministry's 2026 accessibility call.
